Description

As a result of strike action being taken by members of the National Union of Rail, Maritime and Transport Workers (RMT) there will be changes to East Midlands Railway services every Sunday until at least Sunday 10 October.

This is in addition to the strikes which have affected East Midlands Railway regional services since May and means EMR Regional, EMR Intercity and EMR Connect will all be operating a reduced timetable.

A summary of the alterations to the train services can be found below. These are subject to planned engineering work. We recommend checking our Future Engineering Work section of the National Rail website for further details. East Midlands Railway will also publish a downloadable timetable on their website for each route.

Sheffield / Nottingham - London St Pancras International:

Intercity services will be reduced to one train per hour to / from Nottingham and Sheffield, but these services will be lengthened to provide extra seating capacity for customers wherever possible. Some trains will be unable to call at Long Eaton on affected days.

Corby - London St Pancras International:

There will be a limited impact on Connect services. East Midlands Railway are planning to run roughly 80% of normal Sunday services, and will look to lengthen these services and provide more seats wherever possible. From 12:30, one train per hour will run between Corby and London St Pancras International instead of the usual two.

Nottingham - Matlock:

Trains will run between Derby and Matlock only. You may use your ticket on CrossCountry trains between Nottingham and Derby.

Derby - Crewe:

Trains will not run between Derby and Crewe. Replacement buses will run between Derby and Crewe.

You may also use your ticket on CrossCountry between Derby and Tamworth and on London Northwestern Railway between Stoke-on-Trent / Tamworth and Crewe.

Liverpool Lime Street - Norwich:

Trains on the Liverpool Lime Street - Norwich route will run between Sheffield and Grantham only. You may use your ticket on other operators between Liverpool Lime Street and Sheffield and between Grantham and Norwich.

LNER, who run between Grantham and Peterborough recommend that you reserve a seat. You can do so here.
